This cutting-edge addition to the facility will significantly increase the casting capacity in Huntingdon, which will reduce dependence on costly semi-fabricated imports. Moreover, it will enable the downstream rolling and slitting operations to be utilized at higher capacities, resulting in improved production efficiencies. The new recycling and casting line also aligns with Gränges’ ambitious sustainability targets with increased recycling capacity and improved energy efficiency.
Chad Pinson, Director of Projects, emphasized that this initiative is a critical component of Gränges' sustainability plan, highlighting the Gränges Americas team unwavering commitment to expanding their business while simultaneously improving energy efficiency and reducing climate impact.. He added: “It underscores our focus on growth and our dedication to meeting the demands of our customers and markets.”
The new recycling and casting line, which was announced in 2021, was completed on time and on budget and is fully operational. To commemorate this important milestone, Gränges’ CEO Jörgen Rosengren, Chairman of the Board Fredrik Arp, Chad Pinson, Director of Projects, and the Huntingdon team participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Gränges continues to invest in the US market, with another casting line projected for completion by the end of 2024.
