Gränges’ sustainability performance and management are continuously assessed by customers, ESG analysts and other stakeholders, and the company collaborates with several organizations to verify its sustainability commitments and claims. Below are some examples of external sustainability evaluation and recognition.
Gränges has achieved certifications against the ASI Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard for the Franklin corporate office as well as for all rolling and recycling production facilities except for Shandong: Finspång, Shanghai, Newport, Salisbury, Huntingdon and Konin. These certifications demonstrate that Gränges’ offerings are responsibly and sustainably sourced and produced.
Gränges has once again been rated among the most sustainable companies in the world by receiving the EcoVadis gold medal, placing Gränges among the leading 5 percent of companies assessed globally in the industry "Manufacture of basic precious and other non-ferrous metals". The overall score increased from 81 to 85 out of 100, thanks to improvements in key focus areas of environment and sustainable procurement. Read more ›

Gränges received an AAA rating in the MSCI ESG Ratings assessment 2025.MSCI ESG Research provides MSCI ESG Ratings External reporting and evaluation on global public and a few private companies on a scale of AAA (highest rating) to CCC (lowest rating), according to exposure to industry specific ESG risks and the ability to manage those risks relative to peers. Gränges achieved an overall risk rating of 22.9 (Medium) in Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Rating Report 2025. This placed the company as the number 3 among 36 aluminium companies and number 14 among 215 metal companies. (2)
