Installation and commissioning of first battery foil equipment in Finspång completed.
The first battery foil equipment is now ready for production in Finspång, consisting of finishing capabilities in cleanroom environment. The first coil was slit in the beginning of March and an official ribbon cutting ceremony was held to symbolize the entering into a new era of production. This is in line with our ambitious global market launch plan for battery cathode foil: Asia in 2022, Europe in 2023 and Americas in 2024. We are ready to support battery cell producers who value local and sustainable supply of battery cathode foil.
"We are excited to have completed this first milestone and are looking forward to further expansions supporting the journey with our customers towards an electrified future. Aluminium, it has great potential!", says William B. Shannon, SVP Global Battery Foil Program.
The project was announced in the half-year report of 2021. In addition, an expansion of capacity was announced in January 2023 following a very high interest in our battery and electrification solutions from battery manufacturers and automotive OEMs. Read full press release here >
